About

The short of it:

Dabble Babble is about all movies and shows. A former video store clerk turned internet babbler, I look at movies and shows from around the world. So, welcome. I do hope you’ll enjoy reading Dabble Babble.

Alexander and The Dog

Director’s cut:

Rewind back to the pre-internet days. A teenage version of me, a video store employee concealing a hidden past as a Dracula impersonating pre-tween, voraciously consumes any movie he can get his hands on. He listens to Bauhaus, wears too much black, and visits haunted sites, and develops a health appreciation of David Cronenberg. In a year, he’ll embark on a higher education where he’ll learn the true importance of seemingly insignificant paperwork, how to look down on people he hated in high school, and that most of his interests are invalid preoccupations for a serious and worthwhile professional.

Fast forward to 2026 and pause. After much fermentation in the bowels of paperwork-driven institutions (read soul-crushing tedium), my youthful wonder for all things film remains somehow intact. Alas, I am not a serious person after all!

Now, press play. This blog dips into the international world of films and shows. I happen to think this is somewhat of a golden age for exciting storytelling through film, but I also retain an appreciation of everything that’s come before. Here, I’ll review movies and shows, make lists, and recommend watches from the present and past. I hope you’ll enjoy reading Dabble Babble.
